The Swedish private equity fund Ratos AB, listed in Stockholm, is ready to give greater priority to the Danish market. According to the Ratos, the Danish market offers several great opportunities for investing in medium sized companies, and the fund expects to increase the number of investments in Denmark intensely in the next couple of years, writes Børsen.

Ratos owns three Danish companies and has the majority in both the printing company Contex and AH Industries, who is subcontractors in the wind turbine industry. In the industrial company Superfos, Ratos owns a third, while the Swedish company Industri Kapital owns the majority of the stocks.

»Today, we have three investments in Denmark and hope to do more within the next three to four years. At the moment, we are looking at a number of possible subjects in Denmark. It concerns both direct investments and buying up on behalf of companies, which we already own« says Arne Karlsson.

Originally, Ratos was founded back in 1866 and developed since into an investment company. In 1999, Ratos was transformed into a private equity fund. The fund does not collect equity in the same way as other equity funds, which continuously raise funds with a scheduled currency. In the Swedish private equity fund, it is the original equity that continuously is reinvested and there is no requirement as to when the companies has to be sold again.
