Copenhagen’s largest park, Fælledparken, has received a donation of EUR 20 mio. from A.P. Møller and wife Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller’s Foundation. This gift together with a grant of EUR 6 mio. from the Copenhagen authorities cover the necessary costs of almost EUR 27 mio.

Previously, the A.P. Møller Foundation has supported Copenhagen’s development with e.g. the Opera House, Amaliehaven, and a bridge across Copenhagen’s harbour.

”It was important for the foundation’s board of directors to ensure high quality in the restoration of the Fælledparken, and to preserve the fundamental ideas behind the 100 years old park: To be a lung of the city with open green areas and high border trees and at the ame time a contemporary park to the benefit to all,” says the chairman of the foundation, ship owner Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller.
